It’s time to step up to the plate! In this lesson, students will discuss accountability in the workplace. This lesson features a video about how leaders can hold employees accountable. Students will learn and practice new vocabulary and idioms relating to the topic with clear real-life examples. The lesson provides various interactive exercises and stimulating questions suited for for adult learners at the upper-intermediate and advanced levels (B2/C1).

Objetivo de la clase



  • Listening: Students will watch a video about accountability in the workplace. The speaker discusses how leaders can hold employees accountable and the importance of clear communication. This listening activity will enhance students’ ability to comprehend detailed explanations and discussions in English, focusing on grammar concepts related to the topic.




  • Grammar: Students will practice using indefinite pronouns, such as anybody, somebody, nobody, everybody, anyone, everyone, no one, each, all, and none. These words help us talk about people in general without saying exactly who. For example: Everybody has a chance to speak, Somebody is responsible for the mistake, Nobody understood the rule. Students will complete short exercises with these pronouns and then use them to talk about accountability in the workplace.




  • Speaking: The conversation activities will encourage students to express their views on accountability and responsibility in a professional setting, using newly learned vocabulary and idioms.




  • Vocabulary: Key terms and idioms related to the topic, such as “take ownership” and “hold accountable,” will be introduced and practiced.




  • Homework: The tasks include answering questions about the video, filling in the blanks with key terms and idioms, and selecting multiple-choice answers to discuss the topic. These exercises aim to reinforce the lesson’s vocabulary and concepts, helping students better understand the intricacies of accountability and teamwork.
